ANNEX 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
Steps taken in order to promote the four Licensing objectives
1. Close relationship with the University Police officer.
2. Use a mixture of bottles, glass and plastic drinks receptacles to operate dependant on time and event.
3. All glass is nucleated (toughened glass) that will shatter into tiny pieces if broken.
4. On high capacity events all the drink receptacles will be moved over to plastic to reduce the incidents of breakages.
5. Bottles are always sold across the bar but there are drop bins around the venue and staff are always employed to ensure that bottles are removed from the venue as soon as practical where practical or acceptable plastic bottles will be used or decanted to plastic glasses.
6. Drinks bottles or glasses are not allowed out of the venue.
7. There are a bottle dump bins at the exit for people to throw away empties.
8. There is signage on all exits informing customers that drinks are not allowed outside and to enforce the policy door staff and licensed security monitor and check patrons on exit.
9. Drinks promotions will never be done so in a time sensitive manner.
10. Ensure that soft drinks are regularly put on promotions.
11. Refuse to sell self-mixed cocktails, chasers or multiple drink offers.
12. Members of the Pub watch and signed up for the CCTV control radio to have quick contact with police and other licensees.
13. When at full capacity will have 16 external, SIA licensed door staff in addition the SIA licensed staff employed in house and SIA qualified Event Manager. All security staff will display the correct badge confirming registration. A female will be included so that we can carry out female searches and check the ladies toilets.
14. All security staff will be in a set uniform.
15. All working staff (bar, tech crew etc) will be briefed in emergency evacuation and all technical staff are in radio contact with security and act as extra stewards where required.
16. All operational venue staff (duty managers, bar staff and security) are regularly trained on crime prevention measures. These include monitoring of the venue, drugs awareness and conflict management.
17. There will be signs announcing that the Premises reserve the right to search customers on entering the venue. It will be done both randomly and people with large coats of bags to try and reduce any drugs, weapons or unauthorised alcohol entering the venue.
18. The whore venue is lit for varying used but no area is dark and secluded so as to attract people wishing some privacy so as to carry out mischief.
19. The venue is monitored constantly by the venue staff (duty managers, security, glass collectors and House supervisors) to ensure that are being operated safely. These staff used hand held radios to communicate between each other. This included regular sweeps of the whole building including the toilets.
20. Signage up telling customers that offenders will be prosecuted and such information of bans shared with partners in the Pubwatch scheme.
21. An incident log that records all incidents that happen in the venue including public disorder and crime will be kept and in all instances the police will be afforded all assistance possible in the course of criminal investigations, enquires and crime prevention.
22. Annual campaign surrounding drink spiking. This includes posters, presentations and small “spike” drink markers that officers put on top of drinks that have been unattended to raise awareness.
23. Operate a zero tolerance policy on drugs and are vigilant for the signs of abuse in the venue and toilets. Any incidences will be reported to the police and the union card of anyone caught in possession will be retained.
24. The capacity is monitored throughout the evening using clickers for people entering and leaving so that we always have an accurate tally on customers in the venue.
25. The venue is checked for safety on a regular basis. Ensure that all surfaces are slip resistant where possible, everything is clean and safe and use lighting to ensure that the venue is as safe as possible.
26. All events and entertainment activities are monitored by the staff and appropriate levels of stewarding are provided to ensure safe crowd management.
27. Carry out regular portable appliance testing on all equipments.
28. Always have a qualified first aider as well as a paramedic with ambulance on site whilst open and first aid kits are available throughout the venue for this purpose.
29. All spillages and hazardous waste is cleaned up immediately it is discovered by trained staff wearing appropriate PPE.
30. All amplified music can be overridden by venue staff in case of need to ensure public announcements in emergencies.
31. Will not let anyone enter the venue passed 01:30 hrs and all entrants must have tickets.
32. Licensed security staff will monitor the queue at the start of the event to ensure that people are behaving well as well as meeting the requirement for entry (tickets, age, physical state etc).
33. Have an arrangement with a local taxi provider and they will install a temporary free phone in the venue so that customers can call taxis before they leave the venue.
34. Only persons over 18 years old will be admitted.
